Louis den Berger is the owner and operator of Barossa Bike. The cycling craze began for Louis at the age of six after he deftly taught himself to ride a single speed adult bike by positioning himself in the triangle of the main frame.

Not the safest way to ride a bike and we definitely wouldn’t recommend it, but once Louis got the hang of it, he rode everywhere …. to and from school, sporting activities and just hanging out with friends.

First Bike

At the age of thirteen he bought his first bike – a shiny new 10-speed Malvern Star road bike.

New business

As a long term Barossa local, a passionate bike enthusiast and an accredited Bike SA technician, Louis realised there was an opportunity for a bike hire and cycle tour business.

So in 2008, Barossa Bike Hire was founded.

Since that time, Barossa Bike has flourished and continues to grow its fleet of 80+ bikes to provide hundreds of visitors each year to the Barossa Valley with a personalised and fun experience of exploring the many fabulous vineyards, parks, cellar doors and produce stores all from the relaxing enjoyment of riding a comfortable, well equipped, quality bike at your own pace.

Local Team

Our team is led by Louis, who loves engaging with visitors to the Barossa region from all over Australia and the world and enjoy hearing about your favourite wines, beers, experiences and tourist destinations …. it is also very satisfying to see many return customers and visitors who have heard of Barossa Bike, literally from the grapevine, families and friends and trusted tourism web sites such as Trip Advisor.
